Ya, I did get it wrong Mad Sweeny but I still don't have any trouble figuring out that Denise Matthews is woman and a pretty hot one at that.

I like fish but to be honest I would feel guilty eating that one. It seems to be saying "How could you do this to me?"
I love to blacken catfish even though I feel like I've smoked two packs of cigarettes by the time we get ready to eat it.

I know in this age of cross dressing and sex changes it can sometimes be hard to figure out who is what but if on a quiet Saturday morning I heard a knock on my door and there stood Misty with the latest copy of the Watchtower magazine my first thought wouldn't be "dude".
To help those of you who having trouble with this I've come up with a little test. All you have to do is study the above pictures and pick out which one is the man. If you have any difficulty with this let me know I'll point out which one is the man in this series of photographs.

Increased promotion of 'worship' to the Faithful Slave in the Watchtower
by callitquits76 ini have heard it said that over the past few months, the magazines have been filled with pro-gb garbage promoting complete obedience to the body.
can anybody point me to any examples?.

All you have to do is look at how they changed the scriptural baptismal formula to include themselves to see this. They baptise in the name of Jehovah, Jesus and the spirit directed organization. They never liked the idea of the Holy Spirit being a person and no wonder. They consider themselves to be the third entity in their quasi trinity.

Anyone else get stabbed in the back?
by WontLeave ini was a gung-ho advocate for jws.
i got on the message boards and would argue down any detractor, apostate, church pastor, disgruntled ex-jw, you name it... i was out in the ministry constantly, practically running from door to door, preaching.
i started studies left and right.

I feel I belong in Jehovah's house, even though I know I'm seen as an outsider
Then shut up and peddle the magazines. That is the best advice I can give you if you want to remain a JW and fit in. The Watchtower doesn't like you free lance apologist. They don't really want the average JW to be well versed in their history and doctrines. They just want you highlight your Watchtower study article every Sunday and parot few approved comments now and then. Any witness that has done a deep study into their history and beliefs even though they claim loyalty to the orgazation is not to be trusted. They want Witnesses who just believe that Christ came back 1914 and appointed them over all his belongings in 1919. They don't want anyone to actually go back and investigate their claims. I think they may find witnesses like you useful at times but you are never to be trusted. They know that a rogue apologist is only one light bulb moment away from being a well informed apostate.

So I asked my female coworker what she was doing this weekend............
by miseryloveselders inbut her reply made me so very envious.
you know my mother always would tell me, "wordly people aren't really happy.
" as a kid that always bugged me because i figured if people are laughing, smiling, and generally having a good time, they must be happy.

This experience happened years before I left the Watchtower but I remember it like it was yesterday. I had just moved out of the mountains back to Orange County. I was doing the usual JW thing of going out in service on Saturdays and Sundays just like I had done when I was living in the mountains. One Saturday I'm not sure why I but decided that instead of going out in service I would take my dog for a walk along the beach. After I did that I went to Main St Huntington Beach to get something to eat. At that point I realized that I had forgotten my dogs leash. I was watching all the people having breakfast, reading their papers, chatting with friends just enjoying the morning. All of a sudden I really wanted to be a part of it. I went into a surfshop and bought a surfboard leash so I would be able get out of the car and walk my dog. It felt so good to be out there just mingling with the people enjoying a beautiful spring day instead of out knocking on doors trying to get people to join the Watchtower. I think even back then there was something in the back of my mind telling me I need out I just didn't want to face it just yet.
Years later shortly before I left the Watchtower I would find myself skipping the Sunday meetings and going jogging instead. The meetings had become torturous to me and I just couldn't sit through them anymore. This was also in the spring and I remember how beautiful everything looked and how free I felt out running instead of sitting there being bored to death. By the end of the summer I was completely out.
I hope you find your way out soon. It is obvious that need to get out.

Disassociation Letter
by dontplaceliterature inhave any of you who formally diassociated yourself from jehovah's witness by letter sent anything in writing to the entire congregation?
would it be considered bad form to send a letter to friends in the congregation regarding your decision and the reasons for it, before/after/simultaneously you send a letter to the boe?.
i think i would feel compelled to, out of acknowledgement that most of them would not speak to me after "the big announcement.

When I left the Witnesses I sent one to the Watchtower. At that time I was told if you DA Witnesses could still speak with you but I think just after that they re-wrote the rules. I remember trying to explain my situation to one Jdub I worked with. I only got a couple of words out and he said "you made your decision" turned his back on me and walked away. He never spoke with me again. I had worked with him for about five years and he had attended my wedding. We ate lunch together quite often then all of a sudden I was dead to him. I remember think how odd this behavior was. It was just more proof that I had made the right decision. The other Witness I worked with no doubt got the word right away from that Witness because he would look away whenever I walked by him at work and would completely ignore me. I worked with these guys for about another five years with them acting that way. Childish behavior like this happened everytime I ran into any Witnesses I knew. After a while I gave up trying to give any explanation.
Looking back maybe I should have go about it a little slower but I don't think it would have changed anything. No matter what I would have been either hated or fear.
